Every morning the halls of the CDA fill with happy sounds as parents arrive with their young children. There are hugs and good-byes as the parents head off to work knowing that their children will be well cared for and will enjoy a day of stimulating, educational activities. Our services for children include:
- Outstanding, NAEYC-ACCREDITED childcare and early learning programs for children ages 12 months through 5 years
- Comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, physical, language and social development.
- Wholesome nutrition, including a balanced breakfast, lunch and snack daily emphasizing fresh fruits and vegetables and reduced fats.
- Immunization and health screenings such as dental, vision and hearing to ensure each child’s physical well-being and to allow timely intervention if necessary.
- Georgia Pre-K Program for children 4 years old by September 1st
- Developmental screenings upon enrollment and assessments (2-3 times per year) to monitor each child's progress.
- Parent-teacher conferences twice a year to inform parents about their child's progress
- Referrals to professional services for children with special needs
- Targeted emphasis on Early Literary skills to support school readiness
- Enrichment activities, such as field trips for Preschool and Pre-K, special cultural performances, storytelling and book readings, and nature explorations.
